In-Service Training on The Utilization and Manipulation of Gadgets in the Deped E-Classroom Package Narrative Report

Committed to provide the quality standard to Basic Education Sector, Department of Education never stops its way to deliver the best to its people toward the achievement of its vision and mission. One of which to attain as such is to bring the e-classroom package to schools which caters awareness in the Information and Communication Technology in the light of the teachers and students.

Among the lucky recipients of the DepEd E-Classroom package, Estrella Elementary School and Bicos Elementary School in Rizal District have conducted a two-day training (See attached training design) catered by the CTI Columbia Technologies, Inc. on June 17 and 18, 2013 to provide teachers the knowledge and technical skills necessary for transfer of learning.

Few minutes after the arrival of the trainers in its respective school the training started with a very short opening program. Without so much a due the speakers introduced the gadgets and the functions. Till everyone in the computer rooms felt the interactive system of the utilization and manipulation of the gadgets. The enjoyment among the teacher participants have seen on their willingness to participate in the hands on exercises provided by the trainers.

The principals, Mr. Eduardo M. Alcantara, Jr. of Estrella Elementary School and Mrs. Dinah V. Labagnoy of Bicos Elementary School were both present in the training. They have also shown interest to use the gadgets by participating on the interactive board exercises and manipulating the computer unit. They wished all teachers were present to experience the same but following the guideline of avoiding disruption of classes, only ICT and selected teachers were able to participate in the training.

To sum up the result of the training is precisely a success. Even few among the teacher participants may not absorbed one hundred percent of the knowledge and skills provided by the Promethean Trainers the willingness to utilize and manipulate gadgets and the commitment to continuously acquire until become experts in order to provide what is best among their pupils were shown to all after the training.
